White River at Augusta, Arkansas

The "Battle at Fitzhugh's Woods" is a photo documentary of a Civil War action fought near my hometown of Augusta, Arkansas, on April 1, 1864.  For many years, the location and details of the battle presented an intriguing mystery to area residents until my father and I found the battle site in 1984 and began unraveling the story.

Number 5 Green - West Plains Country Club Golf Course

West Plains Country Club is a wonderful, family-oriented organization located in West Plains, Missouri.  As a member, two-term past president, and frequent visitor to the golf course, I thoroughly enjoyed preparing a photo documentary featuring the history, heritage, and highlights of the club since its establishment in 1926.

Memories of Buckeye Deer Camp is a narrative by Herbert H. Lunday, as told to and written by Herbert L. Lunday in 1985.  It was first printed in the Summer 1985 edition of the Woodruff County Historical Society's Rivers and Roads And Points In Between, Volume XIII, Number 3.  The author is planning additions to the original story.

Dr. Herb Lunday resides with his wife, Mary Beth, and their two spunky beagles, Rusty and Butter, in West Plains, Missouri.  Chipmunks and squirrels drive the entire household nuts.  Son, Aaron Lunday, recently completed a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy, and his wife, Kimberly, recently completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.  The young couple is now into the "happily ever after" part of life and live and work in a nearby community.  Lunday, who takes special pride in his Arkansas heritage (Go Hogs!), holds a Doctor of Higher Education Administration degree from the University of Arkansas.  He has been an administrator in the Missouri State University System since 1984 and currently serves as the Dean of Student Services at the West Plains Campus.
